My direction, interests, and approach to learning programming.
I'm learning to become a backend developer.
I've worked with Python fundamentals, the Linux command line, Git, and object-oriented programming. I'm currently studying functional programming on Boot.dev and looking for ways to apply it in small projects.
Where I want to go
TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL are my likely main backend stack. I want to keep Python for scripts, automation, data parsing, and prototypes.
I'm particularly interested in tools for World of Warcraft and Path of Exile: trackers, calculators, parsers, statistics, and companion apps.
How I want to learn
I use AI as a pair-programming partner. My goal is to understand the flow of data, explain the decisions, find bugs, and keep developing the system myself.
This site is a record of that process. The projects and notes will grow with what I actually build and understand.
